Tessa Newcomb
Born in Suffolk in 1955.
Tessa Newcomb studied at Norwich School of Art, 1972-3, and gained an honours degree from Bath Academy of Art, 1976. This was followed by a year at Wimbledon School of Art studying Advanced Printmaking.
Between 1985 and 1989 she taught adult classes in Art and Ceramics in Suffolk and Norfolk.
Scenes of the Norfolk and Suffolk countryside and coastline dominate Tessa's work - her paintings are inspired by her unerring curiosity for the enchantingly unpredictable subtleties and poignances of life going on all around us.
Tessa is now one of the rising stars of the art world. Over the last few years she has developed a loyal following of collectors and has exhibited extensively since 1977 - locally, abroad and in London.
She is the daughter of the late renowned artist Mary Newcomb.
Works in public collections include Bradford Metropolitan Museum; Whiteworth Art Gallery, Manchester; Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Collection, London.
