Mary Weatherby

Mary Weatherby's love of animals was the inspiration behind her art, and was coupled with a natural ability to portray them in paint and later sculpture.

She received her first lessons from renowned sculptor Mark Coreth. With his encouragement she developed her own unique style and the ability to capture the distinctive characteristics of her subject with an emotive "twist" which is so important for bringing sculpture to life. Her subjects are often involved in daily struggles which she presents to us with humour in her titles such as Sweet Itch and Sore Paws.

Mary exhibited with the Cork Street Gallery, London, and the Sausmarez Gallery, Jersey. In the latter years her bronzes were on exhibition at the Ringstead Gallery, Burnham Market, Norfolk.

In 2008 Mary entered a bronze rearing horse entitled What's Up at the Society of Equestrian Artists annual exhibition and won the prize for the best bronze.

Her work is held primarily, in private collections in the UK.
